Three-star linebacker and tight end Trevor Gibbs is set to visit Indiana University in Bloomington the weekend of June 6th as part of his recruitment process. The 2026 prospect from Crown Point High School in Indiana is ranked as the No. 44 linebacker in his class and the No. 5 overall player from Indiana, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Standing at 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, Gibbs has attracted interest from several programs, holding offers from Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Purdue, Boston College, Cincinnati, Ball State, Bowling Green, Miami (OH), Toledo, and Western Michigan.
When discussing what he’s looking for in a college, Gibbs emphasized development both on and off the field. “Factors for me would be a good environment and culture,” he told 247Sports.
A versatile player, Gibbs excelled on both sides of the ball last season. Defensively, he recorded 60 tackles, three interceptions, and a forced fumble. While he is projected to play as an edge rusher or defensive end at the next level, he also made an impact on offense, hauling in 35 receptions for 600 yards as a tight end.
Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti will need to prioritize keeping top in-state talent like Gibbs home, especially as the Hoosiers face competition from MAC programs, Purdue, and other Big Ten schools for Indiana-based recruits.
