ESPN REPORT: More Good News For Indiana Fever As Another Top Talented Highly Rated Forward Who Rejects New York Liberty And Toronto Sign With Fever

The Indiana Fever have officially signed forward Brianna Turner, a University of Notre Dame alum and two-time WNBA All-Defensive Team member. Turner, who most recently played for the Chicago Sky during the 2024 season, joins the Fever through free agency.

Fever COO and General Manager Amber Cox praised Turner’s defensive skills and experience, highlighting her strong shot-blocking and rebounding abilities. “Brianna is a top-tier defender in the WNBA. She strengthens our post rotation and brings a high basketball IQ, great pace, and invaluable veteran leadership both on and off the court,” Cox said.

Expressing her excitement about joining the team, Turner stated, “I am thrilled to be part of the Fever organization and compete for a championship. The team’s dedication to supporting women and fostering a professional environment drew me in. I’m eager to work with the talented roster the front office and coaching staff have assembled, learn, and grow throughout the season. I can’t wait to get to Indy and start working!”

Over her six-season WNBA career, Turner has averaged 4.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game. In 2020, she earned her first All-Defensive Team honor after ranking second in the league for blocks per game (2.0) and total blocks (43). That season, Turner made WNBA history by becoming the first player to record at least 10 points, 20 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 blocks in a single game. She followed up with another All-Defensive selection in 2021, finishing sixth in both offensive (2.4) and defensive (7.0) rebounds per game and eighth in blocks (1.3).

Selected 11th overall by the Atlanta Dream in the 2019 WNBA Draft, Turner was traded to the Phoenix Mercury before the season. She earned All-Rookie Team honors in 2019, averaging 4.1 rebounds per game and boosting her stats to 6.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.21 blocks over her final 14 games that year.

During her college career, Turner helped lead Notre Dame to the 2018 NCAA Championship, marking the program’s second national title.
