Breaking: New Orleans Saints Officially Announced The Signing Of Another Top Experienced Superstar Who Rejects Eagles And Kansas City

Saints Bring Back  to Strengthen Running Back Group

The New Orleans Saints have decided to retain veteran running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, signing him to a one-year contract for the 2025 season, the team announced on Thursday. This move provides the former first-round pick with another opportunity to secure a spot on the roster.

Edwards-Helaire saw limited action during the 2024 season but was added to the Saints’ practice squad in December when star running back Alvin Kamara was dealing with injuries. He eventually appeared in the team’s final two games, recording 13 carries for 46 yards while contributing three receptions for 24 yards in the passing game.

Originally drafted 32nd overall in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs, Edwards-Helaire made an immediate impact as a rookie, rushing for 803 yards and four touchdowns. However, over the next three seasons, he gradually saw his role diminish in Kansas City’s backfield before entering free agency. Looking for a fresh start, he signed with the Saints late in the 2024 season.

Now, with a full offseason ahead, Edwards-Helaire will compete for a roster spot under new head coach Kellen Moore. His experience and versatility as both a runner and receiver out of the backfield could make him a valuable depth piece in the Saints’ offensive system. As New Orleans looks to solidify its running back group for 2025, Edwards-Helaire will have the chance to prove he belongs.
