Done Deal: Green Bay Packers Officially Reached Agreement With 5-Time All-Star Wide Receiver

Green Bay Packers Eye Star Receiver  as Dream Free Agent Target

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs recently emphasized the team’s need for a true No. 1 wide receiver. With Christian Watson likely sidelined for most of the 2025 season due to a torn ACL and Romeo Doubs potentially being traded, Green Bay is expected to make changes at the position this offseason.

Brian Sampson of Dairyland Express identified Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins as the “dream target” for the Packers in free agency. While it remains uncertain whether acquiring Higgins is realistic, Sampson highlighted his appeal, calling him the best wide receiver on the market—and possibly the top overall free agent.

Higgins, 26, possesses the size, hands, experience, and separation ability that Green Bay needs. However, a key question remains: Can he be a true WR1? Having played alongside Ja’Marr Chase his entire career, Higgins has never had to be the primary option in an offense. Given his expected contract value of $22-25 million per year, some teams may hesitate. However, the Packers, with their talented but inconsistent young receiving corps, could see Higgins as the missing piece to elevate their passing attack and provide quarterback Jordan Love with a dependable target.

Last season with Cincinnati, Higgins recorded 73 receptions for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns while averaging 12.5 yards per catch on 109 targets. His production and skill set make him a prime candidate to become Green Bay’s top receiver.

If the Packers are serious about contending for a Super Bowl with Jordan Love, general manager Brian Gutekunst may need to make another major investment, similar to last year’s signings of Josh Jacobs and Xavier McKinney. While Higgins will have multiple suitors in free agency, Green Bay could benefit greatly from making a bold move to secure him.
