Indiana Fever Hire Jackie Maynard as Associate Vice President of Basketball Communications

INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 27, 2025) — The Indiana Fever have announced the addition of Jackie Maynard as the Associate Vice President of Basketball Communications, a newly created position within the organization.

Maynard brings 14 years of experience in sports communications and public relations, with a strong background in professional women’s sports. Reporting to Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Amber Cox, she will manage all aspects of basketball communications, including strategy development and serving as the main liaison between the team and the media.

“I am incredibly excited to join the Indiana Fever,” Maynard stated. “From my first conversation, it was evident that everyone involved is dedicated to setting the highest standards for fans, players, and the community. I am eager to contribute to a franchise that has been a leader in women’s basketball for over two decades and work toward making the Fever the premier women’s sports franchise globally.”

A Rochester, N.Y., native, Maynard previously spent nine seasons with Orlando City SC of Major League Soccer and the Orlando Pride of the National Women’s Soccer League. During her tenure, she led communications and media strategy for both teams, the organization’s MLS NEXT Pro franchise, and major events at Inter&Co Stadium.

Maynard’s efforts earned her team the inaugural NWSL Communications Team of the Year award following a historic season that saw a 121% rise in global media coverage for the Pride. In 2020, her work contributed to the Pride winning Sports Business Journal’s “Best in Sports Social Media” award.

Her career highlights include overseeing media strategies for the opening of training facilities and the $155 million Inter&Co Stadium, as well as high-profile events like the 2019 MLS All-Star Game and planning for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Starting her career in 2013 with the Western New York Flash, Maynard has worked with elite athletes including Marta, Alex Morgan, Abby Wambach, and Carli Lloyd. She has also contributed to media relations in the National Hockey League and collegiate athletics.

Maynard’s appointment marks a significant step in the Fever’s continued commitment to excellence in women’s basketball.
