Done Deal: Texas A&M Beats Out LSU And Alabama For 5-Star TE

Former Texas TE Joins Texas A&M

Former Texas Longhorns tight end  has committed to Texas A&M, marking his third transfer during his college career. According to reports, Niblack made his decision to join head coach Mike Elko’s program after competing against the Aggies in late November. The Florida native is one of three tight ends added by Texas A&M from the transfer portal during the winter window.

Niblack brings experience and athleticism to the Aggies, with one year of eligibility remaining. He spent two seasons at Alabama and one season at Texas, recording a total of 26 receptions for 375 yards and four touchdowns. During his time at Alabama, he made an immediate impression, appearing in 10 games as a freshman in 2022 and contributing more significantly as a sophomore with 20 receptions, 327 yards, and four touchdowns. One of his standout plays was a 39-yard touchdown against Texas, where he showcased his ability to break tackles and make big plays.

Originally a consensus four-star prospect out of Florida, Niblack was ranked No. 146 nationally and the No. 5 athlete by the 247Sports Composite rankings. He committed to Alabama in 2021 over offers from elite programs such as Florida, Florida State, Georgia, and LSU. However, after two years in Tuscaloosa, he entered the transfer portal and joined Texas for the 2024 season. Despite high expectations, he struggled to replicate his sophomore success, catching only five passes for 33 yards in limited action with the Longhorns.

Now at Texas A&M, Niblack will compete with two other tight ends brought in through the portal for playing time under offensive coordinator Collin Klein. His combination of size, athleticism, and playmaking potential offers promise for the Aggies as they look to bolster their offensive production.

This move provides Niblack with an opportunity to reestablish himself as a key contributor in his final collegiate season, while Texas A&M hopes his addition will enhance their offensive versatility.
