Shane Beamer Meets with FSU-Committed QB Recruit in California
South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer combined leisure and recruiting during his recent trip to California. While enjoying a round of golf with former Gamecock standout Wesley Bryan in Palm Springs, Beamer had more than birdies on his mind—recruiting was also on the agenda.
During his visit, Beamer made the three-hour drive to Newbury Park to meet with quarterback Brady Smigiel, a talented recruit committed to Florida State. South Carolina extended an offer to Smigiel in early January, sparking interest despite his commitment to the Seminoles.
Beamer’s visit highlights his proactive approach to recruiting, aiming to connect personally with prospects and potentially sway their decisions. Smigiel, a standout quarterback, remains a key target for the Gamecocks as they look to bolster their future roster.
