Former Auburn Quarterback Transfers to Texas State
All three Auburn quarterbacks from the 2024 roster who entered the transfer portal have now secured new destinations. On Tuesday, former Auburn quarterback Holden Geriner announced his transfer to Texas State via On3.
Geriner, who spent three seasons with the Tigers, never earned a starting role. During his time at Auburn, he completed 9 of 20 passes for 116 yards with one interception. In the 2024 season, he made brief appearances in games against Alabama A&M and New Mexico.
This marks the second time an Auburn quarterback has transferred to Texas State in recent years. TJ Finley made the same move after the 2022 season and excelled during his time with the Bobcats, throwing for a career-high 3,439 yards and 24 touchdowns in 2023.
Auburn has since replenished its quarterback depth with key additions. The Tigers brought in transfers Jackson Arnold and Ashton Daniels, while also signing five-star freshman Deuce Knight. Additionally, former South Carolina quarterback Tanner Bailey, who had retired from football, recently joined Auburn’s roster.
With Geriner heading to Texas State, he hopes to follow in Finley’s footsteps and find success in his new opportunity.
