Good News: One of the Most Prominent Quarterbacks In College Football Officially Name Seattle Seahawks As His Prefferred Destination

Texas QB Quinn Ewers Declares for NFL Draft, Names Seahawks as Preferred Team

Quinn Ewers, one of the top quarterbacks in college football, has officially announced his entry into the 2025 NFL Draft. Following Texas’ second consecutive semifinal loss in the College Football Playoff, Ewers has decided to leave college football behind.

Previously ranked as the nation’s top high school recruit, Ewers had the choice to return for another season, similar to Penn State’s Drew Allar. However, he opted to pursue a professional career instead. Despite battling injuries throughout the 2024 season, Ewers delivered a strong performance, recording 31 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, and nearly 3,500 passing yards with a 65.8% completion rate. He missed two games early in the season due to a strained oblique and managed an ankle sprain near its conclusion.

Ewers’ collegiate achievements include earning the 2023 Big XII Conference Championship MVP title, highlighted by a remarkable 452-yard, four-touchdown game against Oklahoma State. However, his performances this season showed inconsistencies, particularly when facing ranked teams. Questions about his arm strength and mobility are expected to keep him out of the first round in the upcoming draft.

In a draft class led by Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward, Ewers projects as a Day 2 or Day 3 pick. While not a likely first-rounder, his potential could still attract teams like the Seattle Seahawks, a franchise he reportedly views as a desirable destination. Seattle may consider drafting him to strengthen their quarterback roster for the future.

As the NFL Draft approaches, Ewers’ transition to the professional ranks will be closely monitored, with his collegiate success providing a foundation for his potential in the NFL.
