The Indiana Fever made several front office changes shortly after they were ousted from the 2024 WNBA Playoffs. Amber Cox was named the team’s general manager and chief operational officer on Friday.
Lin Dunn had previously held the post of general. She will now join the Fever organization as a senior advisor.
Kelly Krauskopf, the Fever team president for business and basketball operations, stated, “I have known Amber for more than 20 years and have watched her successfully build teams both on and off the court.” She provides our leadership team with a broad spectrum of executive expertise. As we build the Fever franchise into the next phase of expansion, I’m excited to collaborate with her.”
On October 28, Cox will assume the position of general manager.
“I am excited to be joining the Fever during this historic time in the WNBA, and I am grateful to Kelly, Fever ownership, and Mel Raines for this opportunity,” Cox stated. “From the top down, there is a commitment to invest in the Fever to ensure the team’s continued growth and success, and I look forward to contributing to a world-class experience for our fans, as well as our players, both on and off the court.”
Cox has collaborated with several WNBA teams, such as the Dallas Wings, Connecticut Sun, and Phoenix Mercury. The Wings were her most recent team (2022-24).
She takes Dunn’s position, who has extensive Indiana expertise. Before becoming the Fever’s head coach from 2008 to 2014, Dunn served as an assistant from 2004 to 2007. In 2012, she led the team to a league title and its only WNBA championship.
with 2022, Dunn came back to Indianapolis to assist with the front office. She assisted the Fever in acquiring Caitlin Clark (2024) and Aliyah Boston (2023), two No. 1 choices.
Indiana concluded the 2024 season with a 20–20 record, making it to the WNBA Playoffs for the first time since 2016 after a rough start.
Additionally, Boston won WNBA Rookie of the Year in 2023, and Clark won this year, giving the Fever back-to-back champions.
