Since the Bruins’ season began with such difficult obstacles, several players have been more assertive with their physicality.
Boston played the Florida Panthers twice in six days, and at TD Garden on Monday, it was unable to overcome its lack of discipline against the defending Stanley Cup champions.
A.J. Greer, a former Bruins forward, may have given David Pastrnak a cheap shot as Florida persisted in being tough. Pavel Zacha undoubtedly took offense at that and promptly removed his gloves in an uncommon brawl.
“I was blind to his approach. Based on a team-provided footage, Pastrnak informed reporters about the Greer hit on Tuesday that “he was behind.” He was far behind, so I didn’t see anything, so I’m not sure if it was a cross-check or just a decent shove. I didn’t give it much thought until I witnessed Pav fight. Nice to see, but not really worth mentioning.
It was only Zacha’s second fight in the NHL, so he doesn’t have much of a fighting reputation. Even though he didn’t spend much time with Greer, Pastrnak remembered this gesture.

“This boy is grown up. Seeing him is certainly appreciated, Pastrnak remarked. “In this room, we always look out for one another. We always do that. It’s wonderful to see, and I’m happy for him.
Pastrnak restated his gratitude to his teammate for always having his back, saying he would make sure to do the same for him. Brad Marchand also came up for another hit off the Bruins star, but he didn’t give it much thought; instead, he concentrated on how little effort Boston put forth in their defeats to the Panthers.
