Guard Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever won Rookie of the Year after an incredible WNBA season. Less than twenty-four hours after Clark’s ROTY win was declared, the Fever updated their front office. According to Khristina Williams, Indiana has appointed Amber Cox as the General Manager and Chief Operating Officer.
According to the story, Linn Dunn, the Fever’s current general manager, will take on a new job as senior advisor, and Cox is expected to join the company on October 28. Since 2022, Dunn has been the general manager of the Fever. Since 1970, she has worked as a front office or coaching staff member for the WNBA and its affiliates. She has also had positions with the Portland Power, Seattle Storm, and Kentucky Wildcats.
After spending time with the Dallas Wings, Cox enters the scene. Cox was the Chief Operating Officer in Dallas since June 2022, based on her LinkedIn profile. She held the position of Chief Operating Officer at both KC Current and the Panther City Lacrosse Club before leaving the Wings.
In addition, Cox has a long history in the WNBA, having held positions as Vice President of the Connecticut Sun from 2016 to 21 and President and Chief Operating Officer of the Phoenix Mercury from 2005 to 13.
