The season officially ended for Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Wednesday night after their loss to the Connecticut Sun. Despite the devastating loss, the Fever are still in a good place because they had one of the most memorable seasons in WNBA history.
Nevertheless, third-year athlete NaLyssa Smith has been making indications that she might leave the Fever since their loss. Most recently, she deleted the Fever from her Instagram bio following a lengthy, emotional post on Twitter or “X.” Since she isn’t a free agent this offseason, she might ask to be traded.
This has consequently prompted fans to suggest an intriguing deal that would send Kate Martin, a rookie for the Las Vegas Aces, to the Indiana Fever in Indiana. Martin, one of the most adored players in the WNBA, was formerly Clark’s teammate at Iowa. Even while this would be a very chemistry-driven decision, it might not be the best one for the Fever. They will probably only consider individuals who can make an immediate impact because they already have two very talented young players.
In comparison, Martin’s averages with the Aces this season were only 2.6 PPG, 1.6 RPG, and 0.9 APG. She has a lot of talent, no doubt, but she wouldn’t immediately improve the Fever.
