Ozzie Albies, the second baseman, returned from a broken left wrist on Friday, but he did not record a hit in the Atlanta Braves’ 4-3 loss to the Miami Marlins.
Just in time for the final ten days of the Braves’ postseason pursuit, Albies was activated off the 10-day injured list. He went 0 for 4 while just using his right hand to bat.
Following the game, manager Brian Snitker remarked, “We know what he can do.” “I’ll tell you what, it’s still good to see him in that lineup.”
Albies had not played since July 21st, when he suffered a wrist fracture during a game against St. Louis. When Michael Siani stole second base, he was hurt trying to catch a throw. Albies bucked under Siani’s slide, and his gloved hand twisted back slightly.

Snitker remarked, “He gives our game and the team so much heart and soul.” It’s difficult to replace who he is and how he plays. You’ll play the game correctly if you emulate Ozzie’s style of play. His being there is simply a tremendous spark for our club.
Albies was hitting.255 with eight home runs and 46 RBIs prior to the injury. On Friday, he batted second in the lineup, with Michael Harris II hitting first. Snitker clarified that this was done to give the front of the lineup additional speed.
Snitker described it as “just kind of a good mix with what Ozzie brings anyway.” “After that, there are a few men who can sprint to the top of the order.”
Another second baseman, Cavan Biggio, was sent down to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Without the reigning NL MVP Ronald Acuña Jr., who sustained a season-ending knee injury on May 26, the Braves are attempting to clinch a postseason spot.
