The WNBA has formally revealed the Indiana Fever’s playoff opponent. The Fever are set to play the Connecticut Sun, captained by Caitlin Clark. Indiana finished the season as the sixth seed in the WNBA with a 20–20 record. Third on the list is The Sun. A best-of-three game series will be used for the first round. The No. 2 Minnesota Lynx and No. 7 Phoenix Mercury winner would face the Fever if they prevailed in their first-round series against the Sun. On September 19, Indiana lost to the Washington Mystics 92-91 to end the season.

The playoff opener for Indiana is scheduled for Sunday, September 22. As underdogs going into the series, they will play the first game of the series in Connecticut. Lately, The Fever has become really successful. With the exception of their losses to the Mystics on Thursday and their inability to defeat the Las Vegas Aces thus far this season, they appear to be competing on an equal footing with other WNBA title candidates.
