Coach Brian Kelly of LSU football announced on his radio talk on Thursday that wide receiver Chris Hilton, a redshirt junior, will play in the Tigers’ game against UCLA on Saturday.

Hilton’s ankle bone injury has kept him out of the first three games of the season. Over the following several weeks, Hilton’s playing time will be progressively increased by LSU, according to Kelly.

Senior defensive tackle Jalen Lee will miss the Bruins game due to a shoulder injury, while senior linebacker West Weeks is doubtful to play, Kelly also revealed on Thursday.

Kelly neglected to include sophomore edge rusher Da’Shawn Womack and redshirt sophomore safety Jordan Allen in the injury report released on Thursday. Both players missed last week’s game against South Carolina.

LSU has been depending on redshirt sophomore Aaron Anderson, junior Zavion Thomas, redshirt freshmen Kyle Parker and Shelton Sampson, as well as senior CJ Daniels and fifth-year senior Kyren Lacy, at wide receiver in the absence of Hilton.

Even though Hilton missed preseason practice, LSU’s offense still averaged 33.3 points and 302.3 yards through the air. Hilton was one of the Tigers’ top receivers.
