(AP) HENDERSON, Nev. Malcolm Koonce, a defensive end with the Raiders, suffered a knee injury on Saturday and was placed on injured reserve. As a result, he will miss the first four games of the season, including Sunday’s matchup between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Los Angeles Chargers.

Additionally, the team activated cornerback Sam Webb from the practice squad and signed defensive end Charles Snowden to the active roster.

Defensive goals In Koonce’s place, Tyree Wilson and Janarius Robinson could see more playing time.
Last season, Robinson appeared in six games, starting two of them, and recorded eight tackles and a sack. Despite not starting any of the 17 games he played in, Wilson—the Raiders’ seventh-round selection last year—finished with 29 tackles and 3 1/2 sacks.

During practice on Thursday, Koonce, a prominent pass rusher for the Raiders, had an injury.

He was particularly effective in the second half of the previous season, starting Nov. 5 against the New York Giants and recording all eight of his career-high sacks. In the last four games, he had six sacks.
