Many people anticipate that the Philadelphia Eagles, who fell apart at the end of the previous season, will make a significant comeback.
Following a 10-1 start, they dropped five of their final six regular-season games before being soundly defeated by the Tampa Bay Bucs in the NFC wild-card round.
The Eagles made two small moves recently to try to improve on this season: they claimed DT Byron Young via the team on X and released defensive tackle Marlon Tuipulotu.
During his four seasons at the University of Alabama, where he won the 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship and was named to the second team of the SEC in 2022, Young was a reliable player.
The Las Vegas Raiders selected him in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, but he only made six appearances and finished with just four tackles in six games the previous campaign.
Both on and off the field, the Eagles boast a wealth of talent, led by star running back Saquon Barkley, who joined as a free agent this offseason.
They are not at all confident about their defense, which was their worst point the previous season.
Indeed, they lost James Bradberry for six to eight weeks recently due to a leg injury he sustained during practice.
The Eagles’ poor defensive performance in multiple categories last season—which culminated in a depressing playoff loss to the Bucs—came to a head.
