Ian Mitchell, a defenseman for the Boston Bruins, inked a one-year contract extension, the team announced on Sunday. With a cap hit of $775,000, the two-way contract is valid through the conclusion of the 2024β2025 campaign.
In 13 games while wearing a Boston jersey, Mitchell has two assists for the 2023β24 campaign. Before joining the Bruins, the 25-year-old appeared in 82 games for the Chicago Blackhawks. His total stats between Boston and Chicago were four goals and fourteen assists.
Additionally, in 2023β2024, the 6-foot, 192-pound defenseman played in 42 games with the AHL Providence Bruins. Mitchell had six goals and eighteen assists in Providence’s previous campaign.
The Bruins will now make their first selection in the fourth round on the second day of the 2024 NHL Draft.
