Wisconsin basketball has seen its first departure to the transfer portal as junior guard Camren Hunter has decided to leave the program. According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Hunter, who transferred from Central Arkansas last offseason as a four-star portal recruit per 247Sports, has entered his name into the portal.
Hunter had limited playing time in Madison, appearing in 11 games and averaging just 2.1 minutes per contest. He recorded 0.3 points, 0.5 rebounds, and 0.1 assists per game while shooting 12.5% from the field.
The Badgers are set for a major roster overhaul next season, with John Tonje, Max Klesmit, Carter Gilmore, Steven Crowl, and Markus Ilver all departing after exhausting their eligibility. Hunter’s exit may not be the last, as more players could enter the portal in the coming weeks.
Head coach Greg Gard and his staff are expected to be aggressive in recruiting transfers to reshape the team. Wisconsin fans should anticipate significant roster movement as the Badgers work to remain competitive for the 2024-25 season.
