ESPN REPORT: Matt LaFleur Officially Announced The Signing Of Another Top Experienced NFL Veteran Over Eagles And Kansas City

BREAKING: Packers Lock Down 6’7″ Lineman to Support Jordan Love

The Green Bay Packers continue to make moves this offseason that could significantly impact their future, especially as they focus on building around quarterback Jordan Love. While Love has shown promise in his first two seasons as the starter, the team recognizes there’s still room for improvement.

In a key decision for the 2025 season, the Packers secured a towering piece to help protect Love moving forward.

According to reports, the Packers have re-signed offensive lineman Kadeem Telfort, a 6-foot-7 former UAB tackle, ensuring his return for another season in Green Bay. Telfort entered the offseason as an exclusive-rights free agent (ERFA), meaning he had fewer than three accrued NFL seasons and his contract had expired. Without a tender from the Packers, Telfort would have become an unrestricted free agent on March 12.

However, Green Bay extended a qualifying offer, effectively keeping Telfort under team control for the 2025 season. Under NFL rules, once a team tenders an ERFA, the player is unable to negotiate with other teams, ensuring he stays put.

Telfort appeared in 16 regular-season games for the Packers during the 2024 season, contributing mostly on special teams. He logged 79 special-teams snaps and saw limited action on offense with 23 snaps across four games.

Despite his limited role during the regular season, Telfort’s most significant contribution came during the Packers’ 22-10 playoff loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Wild Card round. After starting left guard Elgton Jenkins exited the game with a shoulder injury, Telfort stepped in and played 39 offensive snaps at left guard.

His performance in that high-pressure playoff moment showed the coaching staff that Telfort could handle increased responsibility if called upon. By bringing him back, the Packers add depth and size to their offensive line — a crucial move as they continue to protect Jordan Love and strengthen their offense.

Standing at 6-foot-7, Telfort offers a massive frame that could be a valuable asset in both pass protection and run blocking. His return gives the Packers flexibility and insurance on the offensive line heading into the 2025 season.
