Sad News Report: Dallas Cowboys Officially Announced The Departure Of Another Top Experienced Fan Favorite Superstar QB

Ravens Sign QB to Two-Year, $12.2 Million Deal

The Baltimore Ravens have reached an agreement with quarterback Cooper Rush on a two-year contract worth up to $12.2 million, according to NFL Network insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.

This signing gives Baltimore a new backup option behind star quarterback Lamar Jackson, as former backup Josh Johnson recently entered free agency.

Rush, who went undrafted in 2017, originally joined the Dallas Cowboys and spent the majority of his eight-year career there. He briefly signed with the New York Giants in 2020 but returned to Dallas later that year.

During his time with the Cowboys, Rush proved to be a reliable fill-in starter when needed. In 2022, he posted a 4-1 record while starting for an injured Dak Prescott. He was again called into action in the 2024 season after Prescott suffered a season-ending hamstring injury in Week 10. Rush finished the 2024 season with a 4-4 record as a starter, throwing for 1,844 yards, 12 touchdowns, and five interceptions.

Overall, Rush has appeared in 38 games and made 14 starts throughout his career. He holds a 9-5 record as a starter, with 3,463 passing yards, 20 touchdown passes, and a 60.7% completion rate.

With Rush now heading to Baltimore, the Cowboys face a gap at the backup quarterback position. Dallas also has Trey Lance, who recently became a free agent, leaving Will Grier as the only quarterback behind Prescott. Grier split his time last season between the Eagles and Cowboys practice squads.

Dallas Cowboys COO and co-owner Stephen Jones mentioned last month that the team could target a quarterback in the upcoming NFL Draft to address the depth chart.

Meanwhile, the Ravens strengthen their quarterback room with a proven veteran in Cooper Rush, ensuring they have solid experience behind Lamar Jackson heading into the 2025 season.
