Good News: Just In Kevin Stefanski Officially Reach Agreement To Sign Another Top Veteran Star

The Cleveland Browns have bolstered their defensive line by agreeing to terms with veteran defensive tackle Maliek Collins. The addition of Collins provides the Browns with another experienced presence in the trenches as they continue to strengthen their roster for the upcoming season.

Collins, who was previously with the Houston Texans, brings a wealth of experience to Cleveland. The 28-year-old defensive tackle has spent the past two seasons in Houston, where he played a key role on the defensive front. Over his career, he has also had stints with the Dallas Cowboys and the Las Vegas Raiders. Known for his ability to disrupt the pocket and stop the run, Collins is expected to make an immediate impact on the Browns’ defense.

Originally drafted by the Cowboys in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Nebraska, Collins quickly made a name for himself as a reliable interior lineman. During his time in Dallas, he was an integral part of their defensive front, registering 14.5 sacks over four seasons. His ability to generate pressure from the interior made him a valuable asset, and he continued to showcase those skills when he moved to Las Vegas in 2020.

With the Texans, Collins further solidified his reputation as a dependable defensive tackle. In 2022, he recorded 9 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks, proving his effectiveness in both stopping the run and disrupting opposing quarterbacks. His ability to penetrate the line of scrimmage and create havoc in the backfield makes him a strong fit for Cleveland’s defensive scheme.

The Browns have made significant efforts to upgrade their defensive line in recent years, and Collins’ signing continues that trend. Pairing him with defensive standouts like Myles Garrett and Dalvin Tomlinson gives Cleveland a formidable front that will challenge opposing offenses. His presence should help the Browns improve their run defense while also providing an inside pass-rushing presence to complement their edge rushers.

While the exact terms of the agreement have not yet been disclosed, Collins’ experience and production make him a valuable addition to the Browns’ defense. As Cleveland looks to contend in the AFC North, adding a proven veteran like Collins strengthens their ability to compete with division rivals.

Collins will now have the opportunity to make an impact in Cleveland and contribute to a defense that aims to be one of the most dominant units in the league.
