ESPN Report: More Good News for Saints as Alvin Kamara’s Brother Signs with New Orleans; Saints Add Fadil Diggs in 2025 NFL Draft Finale

The New Orleans Saints wrapped up their 2025 NFL Draft in exciting fashion, bringing more reasons for fans to celebrate. According to an ESPN report, the Saints have added another familiar connection to their roster: the brother of beloved superstar Alvin Kamara has officially signed with the team. The news further energized a fanbase already optimistic about the team’s future after the draft.

As part of their final moves during the draft, the Saints used their ninth and last selection to pick defensive end Fadil Diggs out of Syracuse. Diggs, a dynamic and physically gifted pass rusher, brings both high-level athleticism and collegiate production to the Saints’ defensive front.

Diggs’ college journey began at Texas A&M, where he developed his foundational skills and made an early impact. Seeking a fresh start and greater opportunity, he transferred to Syracuse as a graduate student. His one season with the Orange proved to be a breakout year. Diggs racked up 7.5 sacks and recorded 14 tackles for loss, showcasing his ability to disrupt offenses both as a pass rusher and a run defender. Over the course of his college career, spanning 45 games, Diggs tallied an impressive 15.5 sacks.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 257 pounds, Diggs offers an ideal frame for an NFL edge rusher. His physical attributes are further boosted by his 79-inch wingspan, which gives him the reach needed to keep blockers at bay and close in on quarterbacks. At the NFL Combine, Diggs showcased his athleticism by running a 4.57-second 40-yard dash and earning a stellar 9.36 Relative Athletic Score (RAS), a metric used to measure a player’s athleticism compared to his peers.

The Saints see Diggs as a player with the potential to make an impact early in his career. His quick first step, long arms, and high motor fit perfectly with the aggressive defensive schemes that New Orleans loves to deploy. Coaches and scouts were also impressed by his versatility, as Diggs has the ability to line up both on the edge and inside depending on the defensive package.

Adding to the excitement is the family connection now present on the Saints’ roster. While the ESPN report clarified that Alvin Kamara’s brother is not Fadil Diggs himself, his signing alongside Diggs’ arrival gives fans even more to look forward to. The sense of brotherhood and team chemistry has always been important in New Orleans, and these new additions further strengthen that culture.

As the Saints prepare for the upcoming season, the infusion of young talent like Diggs will be critical. The defensive line, in particular, needed fresh legs and playmakers to complement the veteran core. With Diggs’ proven ability to get after the quarterback and his natural athletic gifts, the Saints may have found a late-round gem who could develop into a key contributor.

With the draft now complete, New Orleans moves forward with a stronger, deeper roster — and a few more reasons for fans to believe that 2025 could be a very special year.
