The Atlanta Falcons have officially re-signed veteran cornerback Kevin King, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening their secondary ahead of the 2025 NFL season. The move provides valuable depth and experience at the cornerback position as the Falcons continue to build a competitive defense under new leadership.
King, who originally joined the Falcons prior to the 2024 season, returns to Atlanta after proving himself to be a reliable contributor during his time with the team. A second-round draft pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2017, King brings a blend of length, athleticism, and coverage ability that adds versatility to the Falcons’ defensive backfield.
Standing at 6-foot-3, King has always been known for his physical tools and upside. While injuries have at times limited his availability throughout his career, his talent has never been in question. After stepping away from football for the entire 2023 season to recover physically and mentally, King made his comeback with the Falcons in 2024 and showed flashes of the playmaking ability that made him a coveted draft prospect out of Washington.
Last season, King appeared in a limited role, mostly serving as a rotational corner and special teams contributor. By re-signing King, Atlanta adds another experienced option to a cornerback room that includes rising stars like A.J. Terrell and promising young players still developing into their full potential. King’s presence gives the Falcons flexibility in how they deploy their defensive packages, especially against bigger receivers in red zone and third-down situations.
