Breaking: Sean Payton Officially Announced The Signing Of Another Top Experienced Superbowl Winning Superstar RB

Broncos Could Target Buccaneers RB in Trade Deal

As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, the Denver Broncos still have several roster needs to address. While the draft presents one opportunity, the team also has avenues in free agency and the trade market. One trade proposal involves the Broncos reaching out to an NFC South team with a deep backfield — the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — to inquire about running back Rachaad White.

With rookie Bucky Irving making a strong impression and Sean Tucker proving to be a solid backup, White could be viewed as expendable in Tampa Bay. Under this proposal, Denver would send a sixth-round draft pick in exchange for White, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract. The deal would save the Buccaneers over $3 million in salary cap space while also bringing them a late-round pick.

A 2022 third-round selection (91st overall), White has spent all three NFL seasons with Tampa Bay. He posted career-high numbers in 2023 with 990 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 272 carries. However, his role decreased in 2024 due to Irving’s rise. That season, White rushed for 613 yards and three touchdowns on 144 carries. Despite the dip in volume, his efficiency improved, averaging 4.3 yards per carry — a personal best.

White is known for his versatility and could fit well in Sean Payton’s offense. He’s an effective receiving back, having never recorded fewer than 50 receptions in a season. In 2024, he added six touchdown catches, highlighting his dual-threat ability.

Adding White would give the Broncos a steady presence in the backfield alongside rookie talent and Audric Estime. His experience would allow Denver to ease their rookie into a bigger role while still maintaining strong production. For a sixth-round pick, the Broncos would be boosting their offense significantly, especially for quarterback Bo Nix. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers would gain financial flexibility and draft capital, making this a smart move for both sides.
