LSU Secures Commitment from 4-Star Alabama Cornerback for 2026 Class
LSU continues to strengthen its 2026 recruiting class, adding another highly regarded prospect on Friday evening. While much of the sports world remains focused on the NCAA Tournament, recruiting efforts remain in full swing, and Brian Kelly and his staff have secured a key defensive player from the Southeast.
The Tigers landed Dylan Purter, a talented four-star cornerback from Booker T. Washington High School in Tuskegee, Alabama. Purter, one of the top defensive backs in his class, chose LSU over finalists Kentucky and North Carolina after receiving nearly two dozen scholarship offers.
Ranked as the No. 25 cornerback nationally in the 2026 class, Purter also holds a top-300 overall ranking and is considered the 15th-best player in Alabama, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
Standing 6 feet tall and weighing 165 pounds, Purter is a multi-sport athlete who competes in track and field in addition to football. His performance on the field has been impressive, as he recorded 97 tackles and two interceptions in just nine games during the 2024 season.
With Purter’s commitment, LSU now holds eight hard commitments for the 2026 cycle, a group currently ranked fourth nationally, per 247Sports Team Composite rankings. Among these commitments, seven players hold a four-star rating or higher, with five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys headlining the class.
