New Boston Red Sox City Connect uniforms will be controversial CEO says..
The Boston Red Sox will debut a new City Connect jersey in 2025. But details surrounding them are hard to come by.
They’re rumored to be green, but nothing has been confirmed.
During an appearance on MassLive’s “Fenway Rundown,” team president and CEO Sam Kennedy was asked if he could provide any details surrounding the new jerseys. While he didn’t say when they’d be unveiled, Kennedy did hint at a few details.

“I can tell you that they will be controversial,” Kennedy said. “And I think you’re on the right track in terms of the color scheme that you mentioned.
“There might be a theme with a certain wall in left field.”
Kennedy, of course, is referring to the Green Monster.
Boston’s first City Connect jerseys were yellow and blue to represent the Boston Marathon. Kennedy said that while he believes “nothing can be more controversial than bright yellow,” he wants fans to give the new ones a chance.
“I always have to remind people like my dad and others, these uniforms are not for you,” Kennedy said. “They are for the players and for the next generation of fans.”
