Report: Aaron Rodgers Likely to Sign with Steelers, Per Mike Florio
The Pittsburgh Steelers appear to be closing in on securing their starting quarterback for the 2025 season, with Aaron Rodgers emerging as the likely candidate. According to Mike Florio, it’s looking increasingly probable that Rodgers will join the Steelers, following a recent visit to their South Side facility.
Florio reported that a source familiar with the situation called it a “safe bet” that Rodgers will ultimately sign with Pittsburgh. During his visit, Rodgers spent over six hours meeting with key figures in the organization, including general manager Omar Khan, head coach Mike Tomlin, and offensive coordinator Arthur Smith.
If Rodgers agrees to a deal, he would finalize Pittsburgh’s quarterback group, which already includes veteran Mason Rudolph returning for a second stint and former Dolphins quarterback Skylar Thompson.
Rodgers is coming off a challenging 2024 season with the New York Jets, where the team finished 5-12. However, individually, Rodgers still put up respectable numbers, throwing 28 touchdown passes against 11 interceptions. Although those stats aren’t quite what fans might expect from the four-time NFL MVP, he remains a top-tier quarterback in the league.
The big question now is whether Rodgers can lead the Steelers back to the playoffs and end their eight-year postseason drought. If he signs and suits up in the black and gold, fans will soon find out.
