Good News: Ohio State Officially Land Touted 5-Star Over Clemson, West Virginia

Under head coach Ryan Day’s leadership, the Ohio State Buckeyes continue to attract top high school talent to enhance their football program. The team is currently focused on strengthening key positions, especially linebacker, to maintain their competitive edge. A standout prospect in this area is Storm Miller, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound linebacker from Strongsville High School in Ohio. Miller has caught the attention of several top programs, including Ohio State, Clemson, and West Virginia. His impressive performance at Strongsville has earned him four-star recruit status, highlighting his potential at the collegiate level.

Miller visited Ohio State on March 17, 2025, to attend the Buckeyes’ spring practice sessions. During this visit, he had the chance to interact with the coaching staff, including new defensive coordinator Matt Patricia. Miller shared his thoughts on the visit, noting, “He is an incredible person, and you can tell he has NFL coaching knowledge that he has carried with him.” He also mentioned his meeting with linebacker coach James Laurinaitis, saying, “Coach Laurinaitis just went over where I would fit in the defense and showed me a lot of Coach Patricia’s playbook, which was really cool. It’s definitely someone I can see myself playing for, being from Ohio and also fitting into the scheme.”

While Ohio State is a strong contender for Miller’s commitment, he has been exploring other programs as well. He has an official visit scheduled with West Virginia from June 6-8, 2025, indicating serious interest in the Mountaineers. Although Clemson was initially a strong competitor, recent reports suggest that their involvement has decreased. Now, Ohio State, West Virginia, and Stanford are seen as the leading programs in Miller’s recruitment.

Considering these developments, Ohio State appears to be in a favorable position to secure Miller’s commitment. The combination of a strong coaching staff and a clear vision for his role in the defense makes the Buckeyes an appealing option for the talented linebacker.
