Breaking: Steelers Officially Reached Agreement To Land 81-TD Quarterback of the Future

The Pittsburgh Steelers are still searching for a long-term solution at quarterback. While they are heavily linked to Aaron Rodgers, any potential deal would likely only provide them with one or two years of service. With that in mind, Pittsburgh must also prioritize finding a quarterback they can build around for the future. As the 2025 NFL draft approaches in just over a month, the Steelers have several potential options. In a new forecast, Ian Valentino from A to Z Sports predicts that the Steelers will select Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart with the 21st overall pick.

Although bringing back Justin Fields could be a positive move after his promising performance in 2024, Pittsburgh can’t rely on just one option for the future. Dart has distinguished himself as the third-best quarterback in the draft due to his pro-ready accuracy, confidence, experience, and athleticism.

While his ceiling may not be as high as some others, Valentino believes his steady play could be enough to help the Steelers win a Super Bowl. Dart has even been projected to go as high as No. 7, so there’s a possibility he might not be available by the time Pittsburgh picks.

In the 2024 college season, Dart threw for 4,279 yards, completing 69.3% of his passes with 29 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also ran for 495 yards and three touchdowns. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has compared Dart’s style to that of Gardner Minshew.
