Following their second-round exit from the ACC Tournament at the hands of Georgia Tech, Virginia announced the departure of interim head coach Ron Sanchez. According to a report from Fox Sports’ John Fanta on Friday, VCU head coach Ryan Odom has agreed to take over the Cavaliers’ program.

The Virginia Tech women’s lacrosse team looks to end a two-game losing skid on Sunday when they host High Point in a non-conference matchup.
The Hokies, now 7-4, are coming off back-to-back defeats to top-ranked opponents — No. 8 Stanford (23-4) and No. 2 North Carolina (21-9). Earlier in the season, they also fell to No. 1 Boston College, 21-5.
Meanwhile, the Virginia Tech women’s basketball team continues its postseason run in the WBIT. They’ll face Texas Tech in the second round Sunday afternoon, with tipoff set for 4 p.m. at Cassell Coliseum.
