Breaking: Pittsburgh Steelers sign massive former Patriots defensive tackle

Pittsburgh Steelers Add Experienced Defensive Tackle

The Pittsburgh Steelers have bolstered their defensive line by signing former New England Patriots defensive tackle Daniel Ekuale. A seven-year veteran, Ekuale has been with the Patriots since 2021 and played a significant role for them last season, starting 16 games due to a series of injuries on the team.

Ekuale has demonstrated versatility throughout his career, lining up in various positions across the defensive front. He has experience playing everywhere from nose tackle to five-technique but is expected to primarily play between three-technique and five-technique for the Steelers.

At 31 years old, Ekuale recorded 52 tackles and one sack last season. Additionally, he generated 16 quarterback pressures and contributed 26 run stops, numbers that are comparable to or even better than those posted by Larry Ogunjobi. His ability to disrupt the run game and create pressure up front should make him a valuable addition to Pittsburgh’s defensive rotation.

With the Steelers looking to strengthen their defensive front, Ekuale’s signing provides much-needed depth and experience to their line as they prepare for the upcoming season.
