BREAKING: ESPN Insider Confirms Unexpected Departure of ‘Valuable’ Penn State All-Star

Beau Pribula, Quarterback

This offseason, there will likely be conversations about the timing of the December transfer window and its impact on players. Beau Pribula’s departure before the College Football Playoff highlighted the difficult choices athletes face. His decision to enter the transfer portal stemmed from the fact that Drew Allar announced his return for another season. Pribula, who played in a gadget role throughout 2024, is now looking for an opportunity to become a starting quarterback in 2025.

Star Tight End Leaves a Void

Penn State has consistently produced top-tier tight ends, but replacing Tyler Warren will be a challenge. Warren had a standout season in 2024, recording 88 receptions for 1,062 yards and six touchdowns before the CFP. In addition to his receiving numbers, he contributed 191 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground, even throwing for another touchdown to bring his total to 11 scores. His departure leaves a significant gap in the offense that Penn State will need to address moving forward.

Major Defensive Departures Expected

While surprises are always possible, Penn State is likely facing a major defensive overhaul. Cornerback Jalen Kimber has exhausted his eligibility, and safety Jaylen Reed is also moving on. Additionally, injured safety Kevin Winston Jr. has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, and All-American edge rusher Abdul Carter is widely expected to follow. Other key defenders, such as edge rusher Dani Dennis-Sutton, defensive tackle Zane Durant, and linebacker Kobe King, may also opt to pursue an NFL career.

With multiple key players leaving on both sides of the ball, Penn State will have significant roster adjustments to make heading into the 2025 season. Replacing Pribula, Warren, and the departing defenders will be crucial for the team’s success moving forward.
