Done Deal: Kwesi Adofo-Mensah Officially Announced The Signing Of Another Top Experienced NFL Most Loved Superstar Who Rejected Kansas City And Eagles To Join Vikings

In a surprising move, the San Francisco 49ers have traded running back  to the Minnesota Vikings. The deal involves the 49ers receiving a 2026 sixth-round draft pick and swapping their 2025 fifth-round pick (No. 160) with the Vikings’ sixth-round pick (No. 187).

Mason, 25, emerged as a key player for the 49ers during the 2024 season, especially in light of Christian McCaffrey’s injury struggles. He led the team with 789 rushing yards and three touchdowns over six starts before a high ankle sprain sidelined him.

Upon joining the Vikings, Mason agreed to a two-year contract valued at up to $12 million, with $7 million fully guaranteed. This acquisition bolsters Minnesota’s backfield, complementing starter Aaron Jones, who recently signed a two-year, $20 million extension after a career-high 1,138-yard season.

The Vikings have been proactive this offseason, not only strengthening their running game but also enhancing their offensive line by signing center Ryan Kelly and guard Will Fries. These moves aim to provide quarterback Kirk Cousins with a more robust offensive unit for the upcoming season.

For the 49ers, trading Mason reflects their confidence in McCaffrey’s return to full health and their depth at the running back position. This decision also aligns with their strategy to acquire additional draft assets, positioning them to address other team needs in the future.

Overall, this trade signifies a strategic move for both teams as they prepare for the 2025 NFL season.
