Vikings Overhaul Offensive Line: Trade Ed Ingram, Move On from Garrett Bradbury

The Minnesota Vikings are making significant changes to their offensive line as they navigate NFL free agency.

On Thursday, the Vikings announced they had traded guard Ed Ingram to the Houston Texans in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick. Additionally, multiple reports indicate that the team is looking to trade center Garrett Bradbury but will release him if no suitable trade partner is found.

Minnesota has already secured a replacement for Bradbury, signing veteran center Ryan Kelly. The former Indianapolis Colt was a first-round pick in 2016 and made 10 starts last season. With Kelly set to take over at center, Bradbury’s time in Minnesota is officially coming to an end. The 29-year-old lineman, who started 88 games for the Vikings after being selected in the first round of the 2019 draft, will now be searching for a new team.

The Vikings have also bolstered their offensive line depth by adding guard Will Fries, who spent the past four seasons with the Colts alongside Kelly. Fries, who has 31 career starts, played in just five games last season but brings experience and versatility to the position. His addition hinted at a likely departure for Ingram, who has now been traded.

Bradbury and Ingram each played key roles for the Vikings in recent seasons. Bradbury, drafted in 2019, was a mainstay on the offensive line, starting 88 games over six years. Ingram, a second-round pick in 2022, started nine games at right guard last season and appeared in 15 games overall. Over his three seasons in Minnesota, he made a total of 41 starts.

The moves signal a clear strategy by Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah to reinforce the team’s offensive line with experienced players. With Kelly and Fries now in the mix, the Vikings are looking to solidify protection for their quarterback while moving on from past draft selections who no longer fit their plans.

As the Vikings reshape their roster, fans will be watching closely to see how these new additions impact the team’s performance in the upcoming season.
