McCants, the No. 14 pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, took to social media to express his opinion, stating:
“THE FACE OF THE NBA IS CAITLIN CLARK. Yea, I said it!!! She has handled criticism better than the people you consider THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!!!! Caitlin Clark, you’re the GOAT!!!”
He doubled down on his take after witnessing the overwhelming demand for Clark-led games. The Chicago Sky and Fever are set to move their matchups to the United Center in 2025, and tickets for a preseason exhibition between the Fever and Brazil’s National Team sold out in just 40 minutes.
McCants emphasized:
“Like I said, THE FACE OF THE NBA!!! This is the metric. Sold out in minutes. Preseason!!! We witnessed her get blitzed by peers, alumni, randoms, politicians, and above all else—women!! She never ran from the challenge. Accepted it and rose above it! GOAT!”
