Breaking: Seattle Seahawks Officially Cut Ties With Another Top Veteran Fans Favorite Superstar Affter Rejecting New Contract Offer

Seahawks Release Former Ravens CB .

The Seattle Seahawks have decided to part ways with former Baltimore Ravens cornerback Ryan “Bump” Cooper Jr., continuing their roster adjustments in the 2025 offseason.

Seattle announced that Cooper Jr. has been waived from the practice squad, along with wide receiver Cornell Powell. The defensive back initially signed with Baltimore as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon State last offseason. Though he didn’t make the Ravens’ final roster, he was brought back to their practice squad before eventually being signed by Seattle. The Seahawks later gave him a reserve/future contract, but have now opted to move on.

During the 2024 preseason, Cooper Jr. played in all three games for Baltimore, recording five total tackles (four solo) and one pass breakup. His best outing came in a 16-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, where he notched two tackles and a pass deflection against the eventual Super Bowl LIX champions.

Before his NFL journey, Cooper Jr. spent two seasons at Oregon State, earning All-Pac 12 Honorable Mention honors twice. In 23 games, he registered 82 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 22 pass breakups, four interceptions, and one pick-six. His rise to the professional level is particularly notable given his start at the junior college level before transferring to Oregon State.

While his time with Seattle has come to an end, Cooper Jr. could still have opportunities to land on another NFL practice squad as teams continue to reshape their rosters.
