Breaking: Mike Elko Officially Announced The Departure Two Top Sensational Star Players

Texas A&M Loses Two Commits from 2026 Recruiting Class

Recruiting setbacks are never ideal, and Texas A&M faced one on Tuesday as two players decommitted from their 2026 class. The Aggies, who started strong in this cycle, still hold commitments from several top recruits but took a hit in the rankings with the departures of tight end Xavier Tiller and cornerback Ryan Gilbert.

Tiller, a four-star prospect from Langston Hughes, was ranked No. 131 in the 247Sports Composite rankings. Meanwhile, Gilbert, a three-star cornerback from North Forney, held a No. 472 ranking.

Their decommitments slightly impacted A&M’s standing, but the Aggies remain in the top five nationally, currently holding the No. 4 recruiting class for 2026.

Despite these losses, Texas A&M still has a four-star tight end committed in Caleb Tafua from California, ensuring they maintain depth at the position. Notably, seven of the eight current commits hail from outside Texas, showing A&M’s national recruiting reach.

While losing two players is a setback, the Aggies remain in strong position for 2026, continuing to pursue elite talent as they build for the future.
