Good News: Just In Houston Astros Officially Announced The Signing Of Another Top Veteran MLB Superstar To Replace Alex Bregman

The Houston Astros have officially announced the signing of veteran infielder Luis Guillorme to a minor league contract with an invitation to Major League Spring Training. This move comes in the wake of former third baseman Alex Bregman’s departure to the Boston Red Sox on a three-year, $120 million deal.

Guillorme, 30, is recognized for his defensive versatility, having played at second base, third base, shortstop, and even made relief pitching appearances during his seven-year MLB career. Last season, he played with the Braves, Angels, and Diamondbacks, recording a combined batting average of .205. Over his career, Guillorme has maintained a .251 batting average across 411 games.

While Guillorme brings valuable infield depth and a left-handed bat to the Astros, the team is expected to rely on Isaac Paredes as the primary third baseman for the upcoming season. Paredes was acquired from the Chicago Cubs in December in exchange for former Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker.

The Astros’ decision to sign Guillorme reflects their strategy to bolster infield depth and maintain competitiveness in the American League West following Bregman’s departure.
