Breaking: Miami Dolphins Officially Part Ways With Another Key Starter Who Turn Down New Contract Offer

The Miami Dolphins are making significant offseason moves in an effort to elevate their performance, which includes tough roster decisions. On Friday, the team announced the release of veteran cornerback Kendall Fuller after just one season in Miami.

Fuller played in 11 games for the Dolphins in 2024, registering 50 tackles and seven pass deflections but failing to record an interception. This marked a decline in his big-play ability, as he had tallied ten interceptions over the previous four seasons with the Washington Commanders. Now, at nearly 30 years old, Fuller will enter free agency.

Despite having a strong defensive unit that ranked in the top 10 in scoring defense—allowing just 21.4 points per game—the Dolphins struggled to generate takeaways. The team ranked ninth in passing yards allowed per game (210.6) but recorded only ten interceptions, the tenth-lowest total in the league. This lack of turnovers may have factored into Miami’s decision to move on from Fuller as they look to bolster their defensive playmaking.

Fuller was not the only veteran let go, as the Dolphins also released running back Raheem Mostert and tight end Durham Smythe in an effort to inject youth into the roster.

Having started all 11 games he played last season and proven to be a dependable cornerback in recent years, Fuller is expected to draw interest from teams in need of secondary help. Meanwhile, the Dolphins may look to the draft to find his replacement as they reshape their roster for the upcoming season.
