Virginia Tech is quickly working to fill its offensive coordinator position following the departure of Tyler Bowen. According to a report from Bruce Feldman of The Athletic, the Hokies are targeting Buffalo Bills assistant Christian Taylor as his replacement. While an official deal has not been finalized, sources indicate that an agreement is expected soon.
Taylor brings a strong background in offensive coaching. Before joining the Bills, he served as the offensive coordinator and running backs coach at William & Mary from 2020 to 2023. During his tenure, the program was consistently one of the top rushing teams in the Colonial Athletic Association, highlighting his expertise in designing an effective running game. Last season, Taylor worked on the defensive side of the ball as a quality control coach for the Bills, adding another dimension to his coaching experience.
Virginia Tech’s decision to pursue Taylor suggests a focus on improving its rushing attack and offensive efficiency. His innovative approach to the run game aligns with the Hokies’ goal of building a more dynamic offense. Taylor is set to take over for Bowen, who left earlier this month to become the offensive line coach at Ohio State under Ryan Day.
