Virginia Tech bolstered its offensive lineup on Saturday with the addition of , a transfer running back from Coastal Carolina. Bennett, standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 215 pounds, has one year of eligibility remaining and brings versatility as both a runner and receiver.

During his five-year career with the Chanticleers, Bennett amassed 1,954 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns, including an impressive 781 yards and 11 scores in 2024. He recorded two 100-yard games last season, against Georgia Southern and Louisiana. Additionally, Bennett has proven effective in the passing game, tallying 76 receptions for 769 yards and four touchdowns throughout his career. His strong performance in 2024 earned him a 79.1 overall offensive grade from Pro Football Focus and All-Sun Belt honorable mention recognition.

Bennett’s arrival marks the third addition to the Hokies’ running back room this transfer cycle, addressing the departures of Bhayshul Tuten, who graduated, and Malachi Thomas, who entered the transfer portal. He joins Terion Stewart from Bowling Green and Marcellous Hawkins from Division II Central Missouri State.
