Virginia Tech Football: Former Four-Star LB Joins the Hokies
Another standout Virginia high school athlete is coming back home. Jordan Bass, a former four-star linebacker, has committed to Virginia Tech, marking another key addition to the Hokies’ roster.
As a freshman in 2023, Bass appeared in 10 games, including one start, and recorded 11 tackles, with two tackles for loss. In 2024, he played in nine games, finishing the season with 14 tackles, four tackles for loss, and one sack. His consistent performance makes him a valuable asset for the Hokies moving forward.
Bass becomes the 15th player Virginia Tech has added via the transfer portal, with three of those additions announced on the same day. His versatility on the field positions him as a strong candidate for a starting role on the Hokies’ defense next season. It will be intriguing to see whether the coaching staff utilizes him in a traditional linebacker capacity or as a pass-rusher.
Notably, Bass is the fifth native of Virginia to return home to play for Virginia Tech since the transfer portal opened last month. Head coach Brent Pry continues to excel in bringing talented players back to their roots, bolstering the team’s depth and talent.
Welcome back to Virginia, Jordan Bass!
