“I Will Leave For Him To Play” Clemson Tigers Fans Favorite Officially Announced His Departure Today Due To…

Former Clemson defensive tackle has found a new destination for the next chapter of his football career. After spending five seasons with the Tigers, the graduate senior is transferring to Michigan. His tenure at Clemson was overshadowed by injuries, including a significant setback in 2023 when he was granted a medical redshirt due to a shoulder injury. Williams appeared in just five games that season, recording a single tackle before being sidelined.

During his five-year stint at Clemson, Williams participated in 44 games, amassing a total of 35 tackles. Of these, 18 were solo efforts, with 10 tackles for loss (TFLs) and four sacks highlighting his contributions. Despite his injuries, Williams showed flashes of potential that he hopes to fully realize at Michigan.

Coming out of high school, Williams was a highly regarded recruit. Ranked as a four-star prospect by 247Sports, he earned an impressive .95 composite rating, making him the No. 94 overall prospect in the nation. Additionally, he was ranked as the No. 11 defensive tackle and the No. 3 recruit in the Washington, D.C., area. His strong performance and high ranking made him a coveted prospect when he initially joined Clemson.

As a transfer, Williams’ recruiting grade has slightly dipped, now standing at a 90, but he remains classified as a four-star prospect. The Wolverines are optimistic that a fresh start will allow Williams to contribute effectively to their defensive front, providing depth and experience to an already formidable unit.

For Williams, the move to Michigan represents an opportunity to revitalize his college career and showcase the talent that made him a top-100 recruit. Meanwhile, Michigan gains a veteran presence with potential upside, further strengthening its roster as it looks to maintain its success at the national level.
