Seahawks Injury Report: Two starters ruled out for season finale

Seahawks Injury Report: Key Starters Out for Season Finale

The Seattle Seahawks will face the Los Angeles Rams in their season finale without two starters, right tackle Abraham Lucas (abdomen) and cornerback Josh Jobe (knee), who were ruled out on Friday. Additionally, rookie defensive tackle Byron Murphy II is questionable with a back injury.

Lucas, who returned from offseason knee surgery in Week 11, is set to miss his first game since rejoining the lineup. The former Washington State standout played seven games this season after appearing in six during 2023. With Lucas sidelined, head coach Mike Macdonald confirmed that Michael Jerrell and Stone Forsythe are prepared to step in. Jerrell started two games earlier this year when Lucas was unavailable, while Forsythe started five games before Lucas’ return. Both players split time during Lucas’ initial games back from injury.

Cornerback Josh Jobe will also be absent, marking his first missed game since taking over as the team’s No. 3 cornerback midway through the season. In 10 appearances, Jobe recorded 37 tackles, seven passes defended, and one interception. Tre Brown, a fourth-year pro who began the season in Jobe’s role, is expected to step up in his absence.

Defensive tackle Byron Murphy II, the Seahawks’ first-round pick, is uncertain for Sunday. Murphy previously missed two games due to a hamstring issue but has contributed 36 tackles, two tackles for loss, and 0.5 sacks in 13 games.

Rams Injury Report

The Los Angeles Rams have ruled out starting left tackle Rob Havenstein (shoulder) for the game. Additionally, the team will rest several key players, including quarterback Matthew Stafford, running back Kyren Williams, wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, guard Kevin Dotson, and tackle Alaric Jackson, as they prepare for the playoffs.

Jimmy Garoppolo will start at quarterback in Stafford’s absence.
