David Pastrnak, the standout forward for the Boston Bruins, accepted full responsibility for his benching.
After committing a turnover late in the second period on November 3, Pastrnak was benched for the second half of the third quarter. Following the game, Bruins coach Jim Montgomery stated that Pastrnak’s absence was a coach’s choice. However, the standout forward accepted full responsibility for his error and the benching.

“To be honest, I simply need to improve,” Pastrnak remarked. “You know, I accept responsibility for improving, but I’m also just going forward.” Yesterday was yesterday, and I’m concentrating on another game tomorrow. I never turn around.
“I accept responsibility for that turnover, as I stated,” Pastrnak continued. I suppose the phrase accountability is more appropriate. All I want to do is go on. I don’t want to divert our team’s attention. It was a poor play, and the players know how I feel about them in here. I accept responsibility, but I’m already taking action.
With just 14:21 of ice time remaining, Pastrnak concluded the game with seven shots on goal as the Bruins defeated the Seattle Kraken 2-0. The talented forward’s eight-year, $90 million contract is in its second year.

Montgomery was happy with the way the star forward responded to Pastrnak being benched.
Instead of pouting or whining on the bench, Pastrnak accepted the benching since he realized his error.
“I’ve stated this many times since the beginning: I consider myself extremely fortunate to collaborate with the leaders I do,” Montgomery remarked. “I’m really lucky. It’s a major issue with coaches in other locations, but I’m fortunate to have this culture of responsibility and the leaders I work with because it enables me to hold everyone accountable.
On November 5, the Bruins, who are now 6-6-1, will travel to play the Toronto Maple Leafs. Boston won consecutive shutouts on November 2 and 3, and they are now on a three-game winning run.
“We have a lot of work ahead of us, but it was a big weekend for our group,” Pastrnak stated. “We want to improve our team game every game because we know we can even be better as a group.”
In 13 games this season, Pastrnak has scored 6 goals and provided 5 assists for 11 points.
Veteran Forward Signed by the Bruins
On November 4, the Bruins signed an experienced forward since Boston was having a rough start.
The organization said that Tyler Johnson has been signed to a one-year contract for $775,000. The forward earned a contract with Boston after attending a trial camp. Johnson is anticipated to play for the Bruins in the bottom six.
Johnson, 34, was a member of the Chicago Blackhawks during the previous season. In 67 games, he scored 31 points with 17 goals and 14 assists.
The seasoned forward had a significant role in the Tampa Bay Lightning’s back-to-back Stanley Cup victories in 2020 and 2021.
Johnson has played in 738 games throughout his NHL career, scoring 193 goals and dishing out 298 assists for 431 points.
