As they prepare to meet the New York Giants on Monday night to wrap out Week 8 and the first half of the season, the Pittsburgh Steelers are facing a daunting 6-2 deficit as they enter their bye week.
In addition to a solid 13th rank in EPA per play, the Steelers presently average 23 points per game and have scored 69 points in their previous two games. However, quarterback Russell Wilson stated that Pittsburgh has to improve on their inability to really get out of the gates quickly in any of their games to yet.
Wilson stated, “I think the biggest thing is just starting cleaner.” “I believe that our excellent response was one of our best actions. It goes without saying that we scored 37 points, but we felt as though we could have scored a few more. Thus, we have the proper mindset.
A weak Giants offense will be forced to rely on Daniel Jones to throw against the Steelers’ defense if the Steelers take an early lead by scoring touchdowns instead of field goals, which will be advantageous to Pittsburgh.
