Jack Driscoll is back on the active roster of the Philadelphia Eagles, where he played for the first four seasons of his NFL career.
The former Auburn offensive tackle was added to the 53-man active roster by the NFL team on Wednesday after being selected off its practice squad.
In the 2020 NFL Draft, Driscoll was selected in the fourth round and joined Philadelphia.
Driscoll spent the following four seasons mostly supporting five-time Pro Bowl right tackle Lane Johnson. Driscoll’s 172 offensive snaps in 2023, with the exception of eight, occurred in three games during Johnson’s injury layoffs. At right tackle, Driscoll started four games in 2020, two in 2022, and one in 2023. He played in 54 regular-season games and four postseason games, starting eight games at right guard in 2021 and one at left tackle in 2022.
On March 18, Driscoll signed a one-year, $1.79 million contract with the Miami Dolphins, which included a $400,000 signing bonus and $900,000 in guaranteed money, leaving Philadelphia in free agency.
The Dolphins, who had acquired former Park Crossing High School star Grant DuBose on waivers and needed to make room on the roster for the wide receiver, cut Driscoll on August 28 after he survived the preseason to regular season cut with Miami.
On September 3, Driscoll joined the Eagles’ practice squad.
For the last two games, Philadelphia promoted Driscoll from the practice squad to the main roster. He played 12 offensive snaps and four special-teams plays in Sunday’s 28-3 victory over the New York Giants, and he was on the field for five special-teams plays in the team’s 20-16 victory against the Cleveland Browns on October 13.
After starting left tackle Jordan Mailata was placed on injured reserve on Friday due to a hamstring injury, Driscoll became a member of the Eagles’ active roster. While Driscoll replaced Lane Johnson at right tackle for 12 snaps, Fred Johnson started in Mailata’s place.
On Sunday at 12:00 CDT, Philadelphia takes on the Cincinnati Bengals at Cincinnati’s Paycor Stadium.
