Kelly Krauskopf, the president of the Indiana Fever, recently gave a media appearance as part of the team’s introduction. Krauskopf was brought on board just a few weeks after the 2024 WNBA season concluded for the Fever.
When asked about the organization’s future during the press conference, Krauskopf replied that the Fever were hoping to win their first WNBA championship since 2012. She thinks Indiana will be led by rookie Caitlin Clark to return to the title picture.
The rookie sensation, who just won the WNBA Rookie of the Year title, helped Indiana finish 20–20 and secure the No. 6 spot in the playoffs, marking the team’s first postseason appearance since 2016.
In order to set the Fever for success in winning a WNBA championship, Krauskopf believes that this offseason will be crucial for assembling a team around Clark.
It appears that she believes she will have no problem attracting free agents because Clark is one of the league’s best playmakers, and players will want to play with him. “I would think that if you are a smart basketball player and you watch the way [Caitlin Clark] plays, you would want to play with her,” Krauskopf stated.
For the Fever, Clark averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game during her first campaign. The 22-year-old led the rookie class in assists and points, and she also led the WNBA in average assists. As the starting point guard for Team WNBA during her rookie season, she was also selected a WNBA All-Star.
Clark had the opportunity to display her skills on the same court as well-known celebrities like DeWanna Bonner and Jonquel Jones at the WNBA All-Star game. With four points and ten assists in the 117-109 victory for Team WNBA, Clark broke the WNBA rookie record for most assists in an All-Star game.

Before taking a job as general manager of the Indiana Fever from 2000 to 2017, she served in that capacity from 1997 to 1999. Krauskopf served as the gaming executive for the Indiana Pacers from 2017 to 2018, then from 2018 to 24 he was the team’s assistant general manager.
